Manifesto: 1) Life is too short to live without good art. 2) Cheap art kills a space; 2) Quality art doesn’t have to cost a fortune; 3) Art guidance saves collectors and designers time, money resources as well as augments their understanding of art and engagement in the art world.

SKJ Art Advisory is a Washington, DC-based art advisory firm specializing in art selection and placement. We help budding collectors discover and connect with art that speaks to them.  In addition, we help art owners in choosing new frames, lighting and re hanging of their collection. Our mission is to educate clients on diverse media and introduce them to emerging and mid-career artists to create enriching environments.



Sarah Katherine Jorgensen is an art historian and painter who has extensive experience in art communities throughout the United States.  As an artist herself, she continuously engages with a variety of artists and their processes.  Currently a Smithsonian Fellow, Sarah’s interest in the art world was piqued in high school when she researched California artists for the Orange County Museum of Art. After earning her BA from UC Berkeley focusing on the Anthropology of Art, she began her career in the art world in New York. There Jorgensen served on the board of an art and social action collective and earned two Master’s degrees with honors from CUNY in Art History and Museum Studies. Sarah has also worked extensively in the art world, including years  in the specialty departments at Sotheby’s, at White Columns gallery, and in the The Guggenheim and The Brooklyn Museum. Sarah K Jorgensen teaches art appreciation and two art history courses at Montgomery College and gives tours at Washington DC museums including the Smithsonian  American Art Museum and the National Gallery of Art.
